Located in the heart of Soulard, five minutes south of downtown hotels and one block south of the famous Soulard Market, Trinity Lutheran Church houses the oldest Lutheran congregation west of the Mississippi River. The historic building on the southwest corner of Eighth and Soulard Streets was restored in the mid-eighties. Its brilliant interior with its gleaming white and gold altar has been admired by visitors from around the world. The Pulpit and Baptismal Font are the original dating back to 1864. Tours are available to groups of any size. To schedule a tour, please contact the Church office and leave a message (or your e-mail address) for Dennis Rathert. He will get back in touch with you. Although the church is truly historic, it serves contemporary people with a program directed to their spiritual needs and lifestyles.

People come from all over the USA to see our 'Panorama' during the Christmas holidays. It was created in 1911 and has been part of our Christmas tradition ever since. The Panorama has a solemn light show combined with a slide show while the Congregation sings Carols. It is a real experience!

Worship services include traditional and contemporary elements. The Ornately decorated Chalice which was brought from Germany by the Saxons in 1839 is still used at every service. The worship forms stress the celebration of God's love and clear communication of the Good News of salvation. Trinity welcomes visitors to St. Louis as well those from around the metropolitan area to its services and special events. You will not be embarrassed or made to feel conspicuous. Feel free to wear comfortable clothing, casual wear is perfectly acceptable. We want you to feel at home when you worship at Trinity. A handicapped entrance, located between the church and school, is accessible from the alley. Friends and members are encouraged to take advantage of Trinity's adult and children's Sunday morning classes, week night home Bible groups, participation in the choirs, and community service activities. It always takes a few weeks to become acquainted with a church that is new to you. Don't hesitate; keep coming.

You will be considered a valued guest and friend.
